Commission is the percentage Kipgo deducts from each booking. Your commission rate is set when your account is approved and is based on your supplier category.
Viewing your commission rate
- Go to Profile from the sidebar
- Your commission rate is displayed under the Account tab
Tour operators have separate commission rates for tours and treks. Other supplier types have a single commission rate.
How commission works
When a customer pays for a booking, Kipgo collects the full amount. Your payout is calculated as the booking amount minus the commission percentage at the time of booking. For example, if your commission rate is 15% and a customer books Rs 10,000, your payout for this booking would be Rs 8,500.
If a customer uses a coupon you created, the discount is applied before commission is calculated. So commission is based on the discounted amount, not the original price.
Commission rates are fixed and cannot be changed without contacting Kipgo.
